can any one tell me the best way to fix rustedout places on my 8n hood the ribs by the radiator era would bondo work or what

since there's a lot of flexing in the hood, bondo might eventually crack and start falling out. if it isn't too bad you might be able to fill in holes with a mig welder then lots of grinding. looking for a replacement hood might just be the "best" bet as already stated...if you can find one.

Yes.. bondo does work.. just takes a whole lotta prep to make it work.. probably 'easier' to repalce the hood.

First you have to clean the back side metal.. stop the rust.. then put some backing material to hold the bondo, and let it extrude and grab onto some sourounding metal, Then ont he rib side you literally have to make a new rib.. and contour and sand to match.. Like I said.. lots of work...

You said "best'way. Replace it. It's probably egg-shell thin even where it isn't rusted all the way through. Bondo won't work and to weld or braze , well , how far are you gonna go to catch it all? It's a touchy area of the hood. Replace it!
