I have a 1950 Farmall M which has a stuck piston. I notice that there are many different opinions and methods of removing a stuck piston. Being that i already have new pistons and sleeves, is the easiest way to "un-stick" the piston just to destroy it? If so, what is the best method of doing this. I intend on splitting the tractor this spring and doing a complete overhaul. I already have the head off and the other 3 pistons are loose. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Well since you have the head off go ahead and pull the pan if you haven't already and then turn the crank so that the one stuck pistons rod is off the crank and then take a 2X4 etc and drop it in the cylinder and hit it good and hard with a big hammer. If it moves then you might have saved a piston for down the road but if it doesn't then you may have to cut it out but the 2X4 is worth a try and could save you parts in the long run
