Elyctrolysis question

I have read posts on here and also searched on the web, so I have the basics down I think.

My question is that I was thinking about using a section of an old cattle panel for the metal grid.
Will it work or hurt anything because of the galvanizing on the panel? I could probably find a section where the galvanizing had rusted off.

Any other tips would be appreciated.

Thanks, Gene

i read that using galvanized steel is not recommended as it introduces zinc into the solution. Also, if u use stainless, the end result solution is considered hazardous and must be left to evaporate and the sediment disposed of properly

A piece of flat sheet metal should work better.

It will probably not hurt anything but you need more surface metal to get it to work good. You will also have to clean the crud off and that might be a pain with that many angles. I would try to find something besides galvanized.
