I've just repaired a sloppy valve in a fuel pump for my Wheel Horse Lawn Tractor. I used JB Weld and it seems to have tightened it up quite well.
Now I'm wondering how the JB Weld will hold up to the gas. Will it dissolve or will it hold up?

I think you will be fine as I used it more than a few times where it was under gas and diesel.

Thanks Jon and Mike.
Its snowing like crazy here in Germantown, WI now so its hard to imagine I'll be cutting grass soon, but I'm sure I will.
The Wheel horse will have to be up and running and ready to go so this fix will be tested soon.

JB weld works fine when exposed to gasoline or Diesel fuel. I have repaired leaking full gas tanks with the putty JB stuff. Just a matter of cleaning the tank around the leak, put a tiny match head size blob of the stuff in the leak to stop the fuel flow and when the cleaned area drys, apply a quarter size blob over the leak. This is a permanent fix untill a large gravel stone pings the tank next to the repair, hard enough to pop off the epoxy patch.
