i have a ih farmall c. i was getting coolant in oil, replaced head gaket. it fixed that problem. had head shaved, replaced spark plugs, new wire set, dist. cap and rotor. adjusted timing. now i have a loss of power from engine. will not allow me to move it without dying out. i have to let it sit a bit before i can start back up. at full throttle the rpm's are very low.

When you say you have to let it sit for a while before restarting, I would be looking for a fuel flow problem. This could also explain the low RPM at full throttle. Recheck the plug wires to be sure you have them installed for the proper firing order. These are the first things to check. There are many other things that could cause it. Are your valves properly adjusted???

I am not a farmall guy, but I had the exact same problem with my ferguson.....it has the gas shut off bulb hanging from the bottom of the fuel tank..... ..I took it off (a pain with a full tank of gas) and the two tubes sticking up into the tank were PACKED with sediment. I carefully ran (by hand) a small drill bit down into and blew out with compressed air. WOW, that was it. I even had to re adjust my carb settings. I hope this may help. Mark
