We recently replaced the fuel injectors on our generator that has a 4219DF 01 John Deere engine. When we put in the injectors our maintenance person adjusted the cracking pressure. Does anyone know what the cracking pressure should be for these injectors? We talked with John Deere they say between 3400 and 3500 PSI. The local shop says that is way to high...we adjusted them to 3400 and of course now they won't crack...any ideas?

Generally speaking, all the Deere Stanadyne pencil injectors are set - when new at 2750 to 3250 PSI - it depends on the actual part #. Those are NEW specs - you should not try to set used injectors the same way - it will make them work worse. New injectors are intended to settle and drop in pressure over time - usually around 200 lbs. lower. Same used injectors are supposed to crack between 2550 and 2850 PSI.
