I would like to bring a little color back to the tires on my antique tractor. I've heard of painting them, is this a good option, and where can I order some from?

Thanks
JJ

Miller Tire has tire paint. I think their site is millertire.com

ArmorAll is awful for rubber. It turns it brown with time. If you need paint to cover other paint so be it. If you need a tire dressing for that "greased" look, use a tire dressing. ArmorAll is great stuff, but not for tires.

I have a quart can of "tire dressing" that I won in a basket of goodies in a raffle. Is that intended for tire "restoration"?

I agree with Randy---here is a picture of one of the wheels/tires on an 8N I am working on. Note the overspray all over the tires---this paint was on these tires for many years.---Tim

Here is a pic after putting on 1 coat of black tire paint----with a brush by the way----

Suppose you could try a product called "Tire Black" which should be available at most any place that carries tires. Have seen it at places like TSC and M&M and Pamida. On the other hand have also been told cosmetic "blackeners" ,regardless of brand, are not good for the rubber as it may cause increased cracking. Guess personally I have not tried it so have no first hand knowledge since my IHC H is for work and not show.

What would something like Armorall do? That would give it a little shine and is supposed to be good for rubber.

Thanks, Gene
