Rudy, Im not aware of any insurance requirements just to "display" a tractor at a fair unless you yourself want to have some comprehensive type of insurance for damage from the tent falling on it or it being vandalized etc. Such is just private personal coverage if you choose to insure against the risk and provided you can find an underwriter to cover it. Check with your own local independant insurance agent..... ..

The other concern is for some type of liability insurance if youre gonna operate it in a parade and fear some kid may get injured. Many tractor clubs and quite possibly the fair board and/or municipality have broad blanket liability insurance for such events. HOWEVER you the tractor operator are responsible and liable for your own actions remember i.e. if you hit a kid you and the fair board and the county and your mother in law and anyone else will be joined in a law suit as theyre lookin for the "deep pocket" which is usually whatever the most insurance coverage will provide.

Ive been in lots of parades and NEVER had any personal liability coverage. As I said the tractor club or county etc probably has some although I realize I will still get sued (and should if I am negligent) if I injure someone, but often those suits are settled and they dont bother to go after the little guy cuz the insurance carrier wants to pay off n be done with it. STILL accidents happen and people get hurt and one isnt necessarily liable for anothers injuries UNLESS he is found to have been negligent i.e. he owed a certain duty of care which he breached and such was the proximate cause of the injury..... DEEP COMPLEX SUBJECT AND THERES Law libraries filled with it.... tooo complicated for here.

PS I make it a practice to NEVER drive behind any float or entry that is tossing candy to kids, I see that as an accident and a huge lawsuit just waitin to happen.

Ask your current home or farm insurance agent. You might be suprised what you already have. I was told by Nationwide that my home owners policy gives me liability insurance with some qualifications no contesting ( like tractor pulls) and no one else can ride on or drive my tractor.

Did you ask at the fair? I don't know why you need insurance.

Your homeowners or farmowners policy has liability coverage that will follow you and provide the coverage you need. Just make sure your limits are where you want them. As long as you are not selling anything or making money off the operation. The fair should also have liability coverage, if they dont they are crazy in this day and age of sue happy scum bags. Seems like every thing some nit wit does, it's always someone elses fault these days.
