Okay, perhaps someone can weigh in on this. Do I try to find a replacement block and pistons or should I bore and sleeve the block I have and utilize my factory pistons. The crack in the cylinder wall travels up into the ring area. I have heard mixed reactions to sleeving the block. Thank you.

Trouble with most of those A,60 blocks is they seem to crack in the upper area of the ring travel around in a circle. When you draw up the nuts to hold the head on it will pull them open and leak again.

Terry,

There is nothing wrong with sleeving a block as long as there is a portion at the top and the bottom that is not cracked, you need about a 1/2 inch each to seal the sleeve. The whole side
of a cylinder can be missing if you install a
heavy enough sleeve. I just recently sleeved a JD A power block and bored a G block , it takes a big bar to do it.
