I am posting this problem for a friend without internet access. He has a John Deere 1530 tractor and just added a 145 front end loader. All hoses appear to be hooked up correctlyand extra oil was added. He also recently bought a new hydraulic pump (front of the engine) and new releif valve for the transmission. At this point he can use the loader for a few seconds, go up and down and then the feed hose coming from the transmission starts to click, vibrate and chatter something crazy. The chatter and massive vibration does not stop if you take the load off - it just keeps going until you de-enegerize the front end loader. This also happened to a smaller degree when he had a front blade which has much smaller oil needs.

We were thinking the pump in the rear sending oil to the front was not pumping enough but the front pump doesn"t whine so we don"t think it is being starved. The front pump has been correctly set to 2500 psi.

Any thoughts on what is causing the feedline from the rear port to the loader is making this chatter would be greatly apreciated.

Regards

try running return line from loader valve into hydraulic filter cover.if your cover does not have the plug to remove in order to fasten a line to it,i would reccomend getting one.the idea of this is that the oil returning from loader valve goes through filter and directly to front pump again,in other words helping the rear pump out.the line chatter you describe is most likely oil starvation at front pump.good luck

Thanks for the information about the filter. My neighbor went to the JD dealer and ended up spending about $300 on the filter adaptor you spoke of - you are dead on as to the problem and by connecting it the way you mentioned solved the problem.

Thanks for the information - I knew this was the right place to ask the question.

Thanks again
