I need to find a source for rebuild kits for the OHV 226ci. six cylinder. Did they use any of these in tractors? Will four cylinder parts work, like pistons, rings, etc?

God Bless
Walt

They have much of the NOS Continental parts.

Wait a minute here and I need to get my book. If you have an overhead valve 226 they were not used in ANY farm tractors,Where are you located? Some of the odd Continental OHV parts are getting a little hard to find. I know a good Continental expert in Ohio.

Massey Harris 44-6 used this engine and some oliver combines used it also like the 25 and 33.
But I'm not sure if the four cylinder parts are compatible or not with your 226.

FWIW II: Gasket catalog (date unknown but guess 7-65?) shows the F226 in several Oliver combines, but lumps engine in with five other engine series: it doesn't mentiom Lhd/OHV, but I'm uncertain about the catalog terminology, to wit: it shows no valve cover gasket set for F209,218,226, but does show valve chamber cover gaskets, one for F209,218,226 and one for all EXC F209,218,226...I've always understood "valve cover" to mean on OHV, and "valve chamber" to mean the L-hd side of block opening for tappet adjustment. Maybe John will educate us...

Bud: I did not dig my Continental L head book out so no answers for some of this information. The FO-226 was Continental's smallest OHV 6 cylinder engine and was made as what they called A vehicle or transportation engine only as compared to the other models which were also made as industrial engines. It is a cast en block engine and takes the same pistons as the F226. So the engine will need to be bored. Bearings may be an issue as some sizes for the F-226 are leaning toward the discontinue side. That is as far as I got today. Bud all those engines you listed are L-head engines.Bud Send me an e-mail and we can discuss it this week if we don't combine wheat. Thanks. J.
