Ok, first thing I am a woman with absolutely no knowledge of tractors. (Sorry) I have a Craftsman 19.5 and the belt is off. How do I change it, is it a pain, can I do it and where do I get the replacement? And can it be done today?

Thank you all for any help,

Stacie

Craftsman is marketed by Sears, so that is the best source for exact replacement parts. They will need to know what model machine you have, and its serial number. As far as replacing the belt, there is usually an idler pulley between the driving and driven pulleys. The idler is usually spring-loaded, or held in place with a bolt. Moving that pulley gives you enough slack to put the new belt around the other two pulleys. Retighten the idler pulley. If the idler is held in place with a bolt, the pulley should be set tight enough so that you have about 1/2, 3/4 inch slack in the belt at midpoint. Good luck.
