Can someone please tell me how to adjust the clucth on an Allis C. I have to hold in the clutch for a long time to get it in gear. Lately it is not even working that way.

Does your clutch pedal have a lot of free travel before the throw-out bearing presses on the pressure plate? Check this out. If so, you might just lengthen the rod from the clutch pedal to the throw-out bearing carrier.

You do that by unpinning the link at the pdal, turning it, and repinning it.

If too much free play, make rod longer, if too little, shorter.

The rod screws into the clutch arm so turning it changes the free play of the clutch. If you don't lift it totally clear it will drag. Of course, at some point, it will be so worn you'll need a new disc...

First off check the fluid lever in the tranny and make sure its not low or a mix of water. That fluid is what slows/stops the input shaft from spinning so you can get it in gear. To adjust the cutch you have to romve the little cover on the torque tube and then look up inside and on the pressure plate there are bolts you need to adjust. You really need to book to be able to do it correctly or you could mess up the pressure plate and that will cost you a lot of $$ I-T manual AC-11 on paragraph 160 explains just how to adjust it
