I AM RESTORING A 36 F-20 AND I HAVE THE HEAD OFF OF THE MOTOR. I DON'T WANT TO TARE THE MOTOR DOWN ANY FURTHER, BUT THE WATER PASSAGES ARE VERY CLOGGED. IS THERE A WAY TO CLEAN THEM OUT WITH OUT RIPPING THE BLOCK APART AND PUTTING IT THROUGH A HOT TANK.

YOUR HELP IS NEEDED (THANKS)

Hi Jason. First flush system with a strong degreasing solvent or gasoline. You can use a mix of 4 parts water, 1 part muriatic acid. Plug up the lower radiator hose outlet, pour the mix into the block til it is full. let it stand about 20 min then flush with clear water (lots of water). repeat this at least one more time. You will see the rust disapear. This will also work on radiator but if radiator is old and thin it may cause leaks. This solution will not disolve oil/grease or damage water pump seal.
