Restoring a 101 combine and I let her sit inside all winter. The gauges, which worked perfectly before, are now acting up. The temperature goes to hot the instant you turn the key on and the oil is not working. Both sending units are brand new and the engine runs great so do I have a short somewhere? Thanks

Yes, I had this with my old Land Rover. The temp gauge would hit max after a few minutes running. After doing all the usual things to the cooling system and changing the voltage regulator (which feeds the gauges with a constant voltage as the battery voltage varies), I found it was the ground connection of the instrument panel. After tightening a nut the problem disappeared and has never come back.

Check the ground to the panel where the gauges are located.
