Aparently this is a common problem with this model tractor. The inner drive shaft bearing goes
bad and allows the large drive gear to cut a hole
in the transmission case.
Aparently this happend to my tractor before I bought it. Someone replaced the bearing and tried to plug the hole by welding. This repair has since started to leak again.
I would appreciate any help on getting this repaired if it is possible. Local welding shop is
hesitant to do anything for fear of punching though.
Please feel free to reply directly to my email.

Thanks
Dennis

I am a welding tech all of these cases I've seen before are in a location to cause great stress points if welded meaning that they will likely crack again. Best solution is to get another case or whole rear end. You could try a gas tank repair kit if you can drain the case and get it oil free. However if you are going to work the tractor you would do better with a replacement.
