I JUST BOUGHT A 1965 (?) CASE 530 FRONT LOADER. I WAS TOLD THE MACHINE HAS SAY FOR ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF. I INSTALLED A NEW BATTERY AND WIRES AND WHEN THE MACHINE TRIES TO CRANK IT MAKES A WHINING SOUND. IS IT STUCK FROM SITTING. I READ ABOUT POURING TRANS FLUID INTO THE BREATHER TUBE. HELP- PRETTY HANDY BUT NEVER WORKED ON ONE OF THESE MACHINES.

the trans fluid wont hurt as long as u use it wisely dont use to much or she wont fire. make sure motor tuns by hand and it would hurt to leave the plugs out if its free and the starters freed up crank it over a couple times with the plugs out. if the motor doesnt turn by hand it most likley the starter. hopfully it just the starter. good luck.

If that's a gas engine, before you fill it with trans oil try pulling the plugs (you'll want to inspect them anyhow)(be sure to clean any dirt from around where they screw in-blow it away with a drinking straw if you've got no air hose) and squirt 2-3 squirts of oil in each hole. Grasp the fan belt, (assuming it has one) and a fan blade NEAR THE HUB (they bend easliy) ans try to rotate the fan while holding the belt snug--if the engines free it should turn. Or if no fan/belt put it in highest gear, and with a little help GENTLY rock it: engine should turn if free. DON'T ROCK STRENUOUSLY if won't turn: if stuck could bend/break very expensive parts.Good luck (OH: stuck Bendix on starter should've been a whirling as well as whining sound, discernibly speeding up and then slowing and stopping as starter released).
