I have a 860 with a newly blown PTO seal. Leaked oil all over the place after I parked it last week after mowing. What is the recommended seal? Is this a quick job done by only the back port? Is there an automotive seal that is a substitute?

D9NN703BB is what I shows as the seal part number from CNH website, and simply 9n703b from my master parts catalog.. etc.

no split.. but you'll be pulling the pto beairng carrier.. and you should check the bearing if the seal died.. many seals die due to bearings that develop play.

Be aware that when that shaft comes out.. you will be common sump.. so you will have lots of oil to deal with.

If you happen to have UTF in all sumps.. I'd park nose down in a ditch and do this work, and then top off / drain the appropriate cavities afterwards..

Also.. you may have gotten way more replies and other advice had yuo actually poste dthis in the ford section..
