Repairing hydrulic cylinders

is there any method of resurfacing or getting rid of rust and pits on a hydrulic cylinders...

Yes. I got two redone on my IH656. I didn't think they were bad, but when I showed them to the hydraulic shop to match up some seals for the rebuild, they suggested I get them resurfaced or the new seals won't last. They sent both out and charged me something like $150 total. He said some of the pits were kinda deep, so they needed a little more work than average. I guess they grind them down to get rid of the pits, build them back up, and then polish/grind them to the proper diam.

These were the silver shafts, not the inside of the cylinders, fyi...
