The loader is made by Superior with a 2 valve controller
#1 raises and lowers the arms #2 dips and lifts the bucket.
The bucket has been drifing downward lately.
I topped off the fluid, didn't work.
I took the valve apart and do not find any gaskets.
The valve is cast with letters WESCO numbers 350, and a symbolon one side of the top. there is also a date cast into the other side 3-15-62
any suggestions on how to correct the drifting?

Glen is right on. By the way that one cast # is most likely when it was cast so its old so it may well be going bad. Most valve bodys can not be rebuilt so if it is the valve you need to replace it which isn't all that bad $$ wise.

my guess would be one of two things, either the valve is leaking or the loader cylinder is leaking. you can tru and put a shut off valve in the hydraulic line coming from the loader on the line that pushes the bucket to the up position. raise the bucket up and close the valve and let it set with the tractor off. if the bucket creeps down, the cylinder is bad. if it holds, its more than likely the control valve.

Thanks,
I do not see fluid leaking arround the cylinders but haven't really checked the seals. I'm trying to pospone a re-build but I guess it might be sooner than later

If the cylinders are 2 way which they should be on the bucket then you may never see them leak. I had the same sort of problem on my NH 850 round baler and the tail gate would slowly open as the bale got bigger and the problem was the seals on the piston inside of the cycliner and nither one ever leaked a drop of oil

Rebuilding an hyd cylinder should take less then 3 hours total for 2 of them. But down time to find out what seals you need can take a few days. Or you can pull them off and have a hyds shop rebuild them for you and most of the time you $$ ahead to have them do it because if they mess up a seal its there problem but if you mess one it you bite the cost
