I am trying to take apart the front end, to make repairs to the worm gear. I can not find the retaining clip that they say to take off to take the front end off. Can anyone tell me where it is. I have looked in the manual, and it is not clear exactly where it is supposed to be. Thanks

The link I posted is to case NH parts on the web.
Take a look at that it has all the parts pictured.
Been a long time, but as I recall, you have to disconnect the tie rod ends at the center steering
arm. Then there is a bolt to remove that lets you
take out a shaft about a foot long that the front
axle pivots on. then the axle comes off. Then you
remove the steering wheel and the shaft as Reddog said. then you can take off the lower casting and
all the innards come with it. You will find that the steering arm is worn where it goes on the shaft. the key in the sector gear is worn. The bearings in the gear box and the seals need replacing, The worm gear and the sector
gear will be alright. If you plan to keep the tractor, Email me with questions before you buy parts.

It has been a while since I took one apart. But if you just want the worm gear out I think just take the steering wheel off, remove the big nut (pipe plug)on the front of the steering box and it should spin right out the hole you removed the plug from. The bearing, worm gear and steering shaft should come right out.

You should post your question on the Farmall board those guys will fix you right up.

Hope this helps,

Mike
