Lift the seat up. You will then see two leavers about 4 inches long. These leavers turn in a horizonal half circle. One will be a little higher than the other one. Make sure both leavers are pointing toward the front of the tractor.

The leavers are to adjust the action of the 3 point. The lower (right) leaver is to adjust the draft control of the 3 point. The higher (left) leaver adjusts the lowering speed of the 3 point. When it's pointed foward the 3 point drops like a rock. Turning that leaver to the left slows the drop speed of the 3 point. When the leaver is pointed toward the left rear wheel the 3 point won't drop at all.

OK,I finally got to go look at the tractor. The 2 leavers you mention don't seem to have any effect on the hitch operation. The 3pt control lever is in the far down position and is stuck there. It will move a little,[1/2" or so], and does cause hitch to come up alittle, similar to how moving remote levers does without anything plugged in to them. The tractor can be shut off and jiggle levers until the hitch is down to drag the blade, then hit the lever and it jumps right back up. Any more idea's would be greatly appreciated. thanks for your help

The guy said a JD dealer re sealed the rear of the tractor and things worked for a while. I saw the set screw looking thing you mentioned but didn't mess withit. The tractor is 25 miles from me[eastern colo] so I think we'll haul it to my shop and play with it some more. Yes, was using the far outside lever.

You are using the leaver that is farthest from the seat aren't you? Not the one next to the seat. If so, read my next post.

I don't really understand why the control leaver is stuck in the down position. The 3 point leaver, that is on the outside (closes to the tire), has two ranges. You need a operators manual to figure out the place to set the leaver for different jobs. An operators manual for a 335, 445, 4 star, 5 star, M-5, or a 602 would tell you hou to adjust the linkages, as they all adjust the same.

One question, has anyone worked on the rear of the tractor lately? Has anyone tightened any bolts around the 3 point top link mount? There is a bolt that looks somewhat like a set screw. That bolt comes up against a small plunger that goes into the hydraulic unit. If that plunger is not free to move, and/or pushed in by that bolt, it will act like you describe.

Where do you live? Do have anyone near by who knows their Molines? I would bet your problem is on the outside and most likely just an adjustment.
