Still undecided as to whether to fix my newly aquired WD45 or keep it as a parts tractor as I had originally intended...gluess it depends on how much it's going cost me to fix it. Took the manifolds off yesterday and all six studs were hex-headed bolts...not studs with nuts like my WD has. Have a feeling this was not the way it came from the factory...also, three of the holes in the head were very deep...one to two inches... the other three were very shallow, about 1/2". Has someone before me twisted some studs off, or is this normal? Another question...do I have a very early WD45 or one that someone has built from parts....The serial number below the brake cover Is D31397...one digit short of the normal six...the shift lever is curved...the decals say WD45, but the block has the bolted-on push-rod cover. I haven't looked at the transmission gears to see if they're straight or slanted yet. Any information appreciated...Thanks, Bob.

From what you say it sounds like you have a tractor built form 2 or more of them. They can still be pretty good tractors but not worth as much as one that is correct. I.E. one with the right engine and all. From what you have said its a WD45 frame/tranny and a WD engine in it
