Has any one ever cut the rail out of a rim and put them back in a an other rim.A 6 loop rim is $144.00 and p a is $375.00. IF some one has done how did you do it????? Thanhs Archie

Thanks Kansas Cockshutt I went today to tractor parts place looked in back of room and found a 12 by 28 blank rim for 75.00. Stsrt tomommo m cutting my rails out. Arch

use your hub as a template, tack, make sure it does not bind spun in and out. there is a lot more play then you think, at least on the 4 rail I did. Depends on how long winter is but I have found it is better to snoop around and find used rims then mess with all the labor and rods to burn. Might be different in your area. Good luck, and watch out for that calcium! ha ha couldn't help myself :-)

this is power adjust rims, took me around 8 hours to fix these. inclosed are some pictures of reapired rims, old rims which i made templtae used for marking, picture of my 135 massey fergusen, picture of new tires which will soon be instaled, and picture of the template i used. thank you very much kansas cockshutt.

Archie: Great looking job on that PA rim. I have double the problem - both PA rims on my Ford 640 are shot, and I can't find used ones. You said you found a "blank rim." Do you know if the 12-28 Flat Base rim (W1228 in Gempler's catalog) would work to fix a 12-28 PA 4-rail? Are these PA rims standard items or do they vary from tractor to tractor? Can I weld the rails in with gas or will I need to arc-weld? Thanks for any help on this.
