HI,I CHANGED OIL FROM 10W30, TO STRAIGHT 10W OIL AS I LIVE IN SOUTH DAKOTA. WHEN I STARTED THE TRACTOR, OIL WAS LEAKING FROM THE SEDIMENT BOWL. WE THEN TOOK IT OFF, CLEANED IT UP GOOD, PUT NEW RUBBER GASKETS IN, TIGHTENED THE SCREWS UP TIGHT AND PUT IT BACK ON, ONLY TO START IT UP AGAIN AND HAVE OIL STILL LEAKING. THERE IS A TEE OFF THE SEDIMENT BOWL, WITH PRESSURE LINE RUNNING DOWN TO THE CASE, AND THE OTHER LINE RUNNING TO THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE CORRECT? COULD IT BE PUMPING TOO MUCH OIL PRESSURE?,OR DOES THE SEDIMENT BOWL NEED TO BE REPLACED? IF ANYONE OUT THERE HAS DELT WITH THI TYPE OF PROBLEM, PLEASE GIVE ADVICEON HOW TO FIX THIS, ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED,THANKS.

Al, what usually happens is the rubber diaphrams leak n lets gas get in the oil. Mother Deere has the new diaphrams n I usually also replace the lil o ring washer on top the shut off plunger. Be sure n get the top n bottom on correct the way it came off or it wont work right..... ...Yes oil presure pushes down on the diaphrams to let gas flow otherwise it shuts gas off.
