SOME FINE PERSON HELPED ME OUT WITH FIGURING OUT MY GENERATOR WAS BAD.THANKS RED DAVE!MY NEXT PROJECT IS TO STOP MY CARBURATOR FROM LEAKING GAS WHEN NOT RUNNING.IT ONLY DOES AT TIMES,SEEMS WHEN THERE'S A LOT MORE GAS IN IT. THATS WHEN IT'LL LEAK THE MOST.I BOUGHT A REBUILD KIT PERSAY,BUT IT WAS ONLY THE PARTS FROM THE SHELF AND NO DIRECTIONS AS FAR AS ADJUSTING THE FLOAT AND WHAT PART DID WHAT.

There is probably an exact measurment in the service manual, but I don't have one in front of me.
I usually install the new needle and seat, clean everything real good and just before I put the bottom and top of the carburator back together, I hold the top half of the carb body upright and level. Then adjust the float so that the needle valve closes if the float goes higher than just level. If that doesn't cure the problem, adjust it so that it closes a little before it's level.
Be careful during reassembly, make sure that the float can't bind against the carb body or the gaskets and make sure the pin can't work itself out either.
Good Luck!
