I bought a ford 4000 a couple of months ago,(it was on the sales lot at least 2 years) and I now notice that the front axel doesnt pivot on the pivot pin. Everything seems to be froze up. Is there any easy fix to my problem? Thanks for your time.

I have a 4500 TLB- similar to yours, and replaced the front bushings a couple years ago. If taking yours apart- check out the parts diagram or trust my memory. Support the tractor, loosen, but do not remove the bolt that holds the front and rear bushings. With the bolt still in place, tap with a hammer to push one bushing out, then remove the bolt and tap the other bushing out with a drift from the opposite side. There are shims you put in to reduce the front to rear slop of the axle as well. Might be bronze bushings in the cast parts, and I think I replaced the bushings too- spendy repair for lack of grease.
