I am working on an international 1066 which has a DT414 engine.

I am trying to fix a problem whereby diesel is blowing past an injector because it does not seal properly, the new washer does not seal at the bottom of the brass sleeve. I do not want to pull the block, does anyone have any suggestions on how to clean and resurface the bottom of the brass sleeve so that the washer will seal properly, thanks.

Yes.If you drain your antifreeze, pull your injector, you can remove your sleeve with a bolt threaded into it.Then take it out with a heel bar.Clean the lower bore, then drive your sleeve into it with an old injector,or borrow a tool from yourlocal Navistar dealer.

The injector sleeve can be replaced without removing the cylinder head.
