While trying to get the threaded pipe out of the manifold of my M, the pipe sheared off even with the top of the threads. Does anyone have any tested and true method for removing the piece of pipe remaining without completely eating up the threads?

I have had real good luck by heating up the pipe with a torch cherry red all the way around and let it cooland if that did not work then just take a welder and set the heat to when ya don't burn into the pipe but the weld sorta layes on top and this well also shrink the old pipe .

take a hacksaw blade and cut some verticals around the pipe, be careful so you dont go thru the threads. then take a cold chisel and tap the piece of pipe toward the center, it will usually break along the cut lines and then its easy to get out.

Thanks Glennster... My father-in-law had the same theory... think I'll give that a go this weekend!
