What kind of fluid (hydraulic) should I use in my 1949 Ferguson TO-20. I have a leaky PTO outputshaft that I am going to replace the 1 1/8 shaft with todays standard 1 3/8 shaft. I have looked in my Ferguson Shop Manual and it doesn't really specify and something that important I dont want to just guess. I will appreciate any and all help anyone can give me. Thanks Eric, N.E. OHIO

The Ferguson Shop Manual specifies GL-1 mineral oil, 80W in for ambient Temps below 50F and 90W for temps above 50 F. It can be found at NAPA and if you search the Ferguson archives you can find the part numbers. Do not use gear oils or rear axles lube.
