How long after painting should one wait before applying the new decals? I just shot the last coat today and wondered what is best...

I generally wait 24-48 hours before puting on decals. I also use soapy water on the surface your puting the decals on, not only to be able to position the decal, but to also make it easier to remove all air bubbles from behind the decals. Enjoy and have fun!

depends on what type of paint you applied. if its an automotive urethane with a hardner, i would wait a couple of days. at the shop we wait 24 hours after the car comes out of the booth with a bake cycle. without hardener, i'd get it in the sun for a week before applying decal so the paint can flash off all the solvents.

Guess I forgot to mention that part... I sprayed the Tractor Supply Valspar on it with hardner, no clear coat.

i'd give the valspar a good week, 70 degree temps to be sure the solvents flash, tsc paint usually reduces with mineral spirits, a slow flash and slow evaporative rate thinner.
