MY JUBILEE HAS BEEN CONVERTED FROM 6V TO 12V
SYSTEM. WORKED FINE FOR YEARS PUT A NEW ALTERNATOR ON IT (DELCO SI10-12V WITH A SELF-ENTERGIZING REGULATOR) AT AROUND 9-1200 RPM THE AMP GUAGE STAYS AT AROUND "0" IF YOU GIVE IT MORE THROTTLE(13 RPM OR MORE) IT PUT THE AMP NEEDLE PAST 60 AMPS ON THE "+" SIDE AND STAYS THERE. WOULD BE VERY THANKFUL FOR SOME HELP.

Get a standard "3-wire" alternator, and toss the (goofy) one-wire unit in the trash!

Actually, you COULD try installing a jumper wire from the large output stud to the #2 "voltage sense" terminal, and see if that would bring the charging Voltage/Amps down.

If that helps, install a wire with a diode or "idiot lamp", connected between the switched terminal on the ignition switch and the alternator's #1 "switched excite" terminal. This will make the alternator "excite" at startup, rather than requiring the engine to be "goosed".

Third Party Image

If that "sense" wire DOESN'T help, get another alternator, as previously stated.

how is your wired? did you include the little 194 litebulb? my jubilee is 12 volt too i put the alt on myself after years of pulling the battery every nite and putting it on a trickle charger [ hard on batterys] go to the search the archives here and you'll find a nice diagram showing the whole setup i coppied it and mine works great
