Easiest would obviously be one from showroom or one which has recenly been restored.

if you are serious about restoring a tractor my advice(for what that's worth) is to see what kinds of tractors yor friends are restoring. you will need extra parts and advice and they will have both.

Farmall B without electrics would probably be one of the easiest, but don't we all want a challenge? If it was easy, then it wouldn't be any fun

I look for a tractor that I like, that way you enjoy the results as you go along..... .I look for a tractor that runs good no smoke no serious oil leaks ...I don't like going inside to make repairs..... never been repainted....fairly straight sheet metal... Good enought tires on the back ....I don't mind putting on new front tires dress's them up fast.....a tractor that has been kept inside little or no rust..... that is about it.....expect to pay say $2400 instead of $1600,but in the long run it is money well spent..... .. the investment will be about the same and a heck of a lot less work and a good sound tractor.....I have done it both ways....don't try to cut corners to save money ,you will wind up with a piece of freshly painted junk.....I just bought a 1951 FARMALL "M"in this condition....I'll be driving it finished, better than new by fall.....

The old Fords are the easiest, all parts are available and reasonable. I have 2 Oliver super 55's, tie rod end in MI was $90.00, other parts obtained from CA to NY needless to say I get a Chrismas card from UPS every year.[ I do Have a Ford 2N which was the easiest resore]
