Stupid JD 50 questions

1.) It has been suggested (not on YT) that I put vinegar in the crankcase to loosen the pistons. Do you know if this works?

2.) The manual says that (in an engine that isn't stuck), the way to remove the pistons is out the front of the block with the block in place. Can (or why can't) the block (in an engine that isn't stuck) be pulled forward leaving the pistons connected to the crankshaft?

on most 2 cyl's that are really stuck We unbolt the rods ( sometimes that's hard to get to the bolts)and pull the block & pistons rods and all out at once. Stand it up on blocks wire wheel the cyls take a 4x4 drive the pistons down a little clean above them and oil the cyl.They should drive right out the frount than.
