Is it ok to put epoxy-enamel on the inside of the bowl of a carburetor (DLTX34)? I heard this will keep it from rusting.

I would be afraid of a coating, but I have been wiping them with the rust converter / killer that I use on rusty body panels. Baggsy has a good suggestion on the carb cleaner. I found that soaking for extended periods (weeks) has a much better effect than the overnight I used to do.

I've never heard of that and would hesitate using anything in the bowl. You might look up Motec engineering in the archives and ask Matt what he thinks...he's an expert. But if you run it thru a good carb cleaner solution you shouldn't have to worry about rust again. I'd be afraid of it breaking down and plugging up a jet. Let us know what you decide...
