how hard is it to change the cam in the JD A tractor to a JD 620 or 630 cam? can I ouly take the fly wheel off and those 2 bolts where the cam come out on the left side? or do have to take the right side off too? that be alot work.

I just changed cams in a 49. You have to take the clutch side all apart to get the cam out because the right side bearing race must come off and is held in with a spring. If you don't have the block out, you will have to take the cam gear off while it is in the tractor meaning the left bearing will have to come off or come apart for that to happen. It is quite a job but doable.
