Hi guys, since the Farmall board doesn't work and I want to do some work this weekend, I'm going to post on this board. My 460 won't come out of gear if the TA is in high. If you pull it to low, then you can change gears. I was under the impression that it should be the other way around when the TA goes bad, so does anyone have any ideas on what is wrong? Thanks for the help

Don't get excited, there is nothing wrong with the TA other than it is out of adjustment. If you need to use the tractor now, go ahead, It won't hurt anything, just pull the TA lever back and push the clutch in and shift gears. Adjust properly as soon as you can get the proper information

There should be a link between the clutch and TA linkages that causes the TA to automatically shift to low range when you push the clutch in - this makes shifting easier. It should be adjusted so that when you let the clutch out the TA clutch will engage just before the main clutch. I have been told that by removing this link or having it out of adjustment can make shifting hard.

Does the TA still work? Email me and I will scan in the info to adjust it from the I&T shop manual and email it to you if you would like.
