Masseys are prone to this happening. More than likely it happened because you were probably pulling up on the shift lever while shifting..... .which is easy to do. Try to remember to do your shifting without pulling up on the shifter knob. And, like a previous post suggested, the easiest way to fix it is to take off the filler cap and get a long and strong srewdriver and wiggle the gears around until it frees up. Sounds like you have done that, though. :) All tractors have their little quirks.

Remove the shifter from the transmition....with a long ,strong screwdriver, move the shifting forks into neutral, replace shifter..... look at the end of the shifter,if the end shows wear, weld it back and grind it to shape..... .

I removed the pin from the base of the shifter, or the from the nut and the shifter, but unabe to unscrew the nut from the top of the transmission. Any Ideas on that? it turns but doedsn't seem to have any threads,

I always remove the filler cap (about a 2" pipe plug right beside the gear shifter) and reach in there with a tire tool and push the gears around until it straightens out.
