I was having trouble getting the steering wheel off of my 300u. I ended up using a brake drum puller, pulling on the plastic part of wheel and then heating the hub with a mapp gas tourch and it poped right off. Just thought I pass it along

Do yourself a big favor before you put the steering wheel back on, put a lite coat of anti-sieze on the shaft, and in the steering wheel hub. It'll be SO much easier the next time you need to pull the wheel off. Trust me!

I used to back the nut out to where it was flush with the steering shaft and then rap it with a hammer, hitting the shaft and nut squarely. All this was done while putting pulling pressure on the wheel, usually with my knees under the steering wheel. Don't hit so hard as to damage the shaft or nut. If this don't work after a couple raps, go to plan B.

I've shifted some really frozen steering wheels using a bearing puller and as Randy suggests, some heat. They really come off with a bang!
