above has all cyl. walls upper and lower cracked. center main journal is cracked also.

1. will wicking loctite be sufficient?
2. anyone know a chep place to weld the cracks??

I can pick up a repaired block for $675... will I save any money by fixing this one instead?

thanks, Chaplain Don Shannon

The loctite shouldn't work alone, because the cracks will continue to grow with expansion and contraction from heating and cooling, and vibration. The cracks have to be stopped by finding the ends with magnafluxing, and drilling them out and plugging them. The cylinders can be repaired with sleeves. It would be extremely difficult to repair the main bearing bore. I think the replacement block would be the reliable way to go.

Do a search on the Harry Ferguson page. This problem has been discussed in detail. Some peop;e bolt the block together on the Z120 and Z129.
Talk to a MF dealer that has been in business for a long time, they might have ideas.
