I have a 901 powermaster that was converted to a 12 v system. I just inherited it after it had been sitting outside for about 8 years. i am having trouble getting spark, and voltage into the coil wa reading about 4.5 V. I was wondering what the voltage was supposed to be going into the coil, and if 4.5 is the norm, what could the problem be. plugs and wires are both good, and it is geting fuel. any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Jason

Disconnect the coil and recheck the voltage at that point. It should be at 12V. If it has an external resistor it should still read higher than what you got. It sounds like the coil is shorted but that is just a quick guess. Does the coil or point get overly warm? Make sure the points are grounding. I recently saw a AC B that would only fire when it started turning over then would stop. The dist lost its ground and was trying to get its ground thru the cam gear.
