I had one reply that told me that the bolts that fell out are the PTO Stabilizing Baring holder, and the oil that drained out is from the Rear pinion gears. Do you know how to fill the pinion gear area?

He also said that the problem with the shifter may be one of two things.... 1) the forks may be worn. If so does anyone know how to check and fix this. 2) the shifter might have jumped out of the track. Again how do I check for this and how do I fix this.

Thanks!! Chris

The shift lever can be removed like this: Pull up the rubber cover at the base of the lever. Remove the snap ring and washer(s). Pull the lever up and out. The lower end may be worn or broken, may be built up to original by welding and shaping.Use a flashlight to see into the tranny, and line up the shifter forks with a long screwdriver. You may also note wear on the top of the forks. To repair that, the tower needs to be removed. Reassemble in reverse order, use enough washers to get the lever snug in the tower. Don't lose the 2 square pins that fit into the ball of the shift lever! (WD has one, WD45 has two)
