On a Delco 2 brush generator,how do you get the bushing out of the plate on the brush end? Thanks

Have got them out of the blind end hole by screwing a 5/8 tap into the bushing to the depth of the bushing, then find a pipe or socket that is larger than the bushing o.d., slide it over the tap, making sure it is clear of the bushing, then place a couple of large flat washers on the pipe, then screw a 5/8 nut down on the tap against the washers and the bushing usually comes right out on the end of the tap like a puller should.

Roberts method is excellent. You can also buy pullers from Grainger for $55-$70 that are good for both installing and removing many different sizes of smaller bushings and bearings. One set is specially for motors.

I have used a threading tap to remove bushings from blind holes. The tap will bottom out and push the bushing out. Make sure not to use a tap which is not too tight in the hole.
