I need advice on the installation of a drive clutch on a Cletrac AG-6. I just acquired this machine and it needs a clutch. The drive clutch slips badly and is on it's last legs. Mainly I'm wondering if I need to take out the engine or if it can be done through the inspection hatch. Thanks

I was in one a few years ago for tranny parts. As I recall there was a real good shot at the clutch.I believe you need to take off the ispection/shifter plates rightaway and then look straight up in the air and watch the snow clouds form. Shifting observation to within the trans again, I think you will see an oil pump or somthing which has to be removed but what you are really looking for is confirmation there is a detachable or sliding input shaft segment betwix clutch and input or removable bearing housing(bearing in which you could stand to replace)so's you could do the job fine since the engine is free. Possibility exists some emrgency repair was required in there and things are all welded up in whitch case you'll need to cut or get the hoist ready.
