Penetrating oil? Horse drawn plow handles?

I was wondering what is the best Penetrating oil for loosening very rusty bolts. I keep looking at a add in Farm Collector magazine for Gibbs brand. Is it any good or does anybody know of something better. I am restoring a John Deere MP12 horse drawn plow and it is all rusted up. I plan on taking it all apart cleaning it all up and repainting it. I would also like to know where I can get new handles for it? I would prefer oak because I think it would last longer and look better at shows. Thank you in advance for any help. Rodney

I use PB Blaster, works wonders for me, even unsticking tractors. If you want to find some plow handles, I got mine new from an Amish woodshop/blacksmith...

It's a little spendy, $10 per can but Lawson sells Non-Flammable penetrating oil that WORKS. I have tried it all. If you don't have a Lawson rep., Blaster is pretty fair stuff too.

Between Dad and I we have over 40 years combined experience working on all types of equipment, and neither of us has ever found anything that can touch PB Blaster.

I have used Gibbs, PB Blaster, Yield, Sneaky Pete and others. Most work better than WD-40. None are magic.

Hi Rod,

I haven't tried the Gibbs brand but I did find out about PB Blaster on this site a while back. I decided to try some and am pleased with the result. It works better than WD-40.

On the plow handles try Farmer Browns Plow Shop site at the link.
