Does anyone know how to clean the inside of a gas
tank? It has very little rust but gas inside was
in there for 25 years.

I have tried every trick in the book for dried gummy gas. The other day i bit the bullet and spent $85 on 5gallons of carburator. i put it in a tank that had about a quarter inch of hard and gummy gas i let it soak for 3 days then draind it and blew it out with the pressure washer It LOOKS LIKE NEW NOW and i can reuse the cleaner in many more tanks well worth 85 dollars and was the easiest tank i ever cleaned And it was the worst to start with

A little water and some pebbles. Shakes a whole lot (good job for kids) and them seal with gas tank sealant for Eastwood Supplies.

Acid is not healthy, but I think muriatic acid is available at swimming pool suppliers. Otherwise remove the tank, put in a few handsfull of roofing nails, aquarium gravel, or the like and a gallon or two of water. Strap it down in the back of the pickup or car trunk and drive it around for a week, preferably over rough roads. Or you can shake it by hand for a while if you have the arms to do it. And be sure to keep the cap on! :)

There is a kit you can get called Kreem (cream).
1. Meratic acid & Hot Water(can't spell)(Eats rust/old gas)
2.Rinse well with water
3.Rinse w/ dry gas (dry's out tank)
4.Apply Kreem to inside of tank with a few coatings over the period of a few days. Make sure you coat it well because nothing will eat threw this stuff!!

Just my $.02
