hello, I'm using my father email, I'm 16 and my name is Nalina. My father gave me a car. It's a 1986 Camaro stick shift. I have never work on a car before but in the last 4 months I have study book on Camaro as well a cars. Just last week I put in a new alternator and a radiator and new brake pads. For a women or should I say for a young lady I've done good. I have people that I don't even know, helping me. They are kind to send me all types of emails to asst. Please e-mail me step by step with drawning on how to install a cluch on the 1986 Camaro. I already have the cluch kit, somebody that I never met but talk to on line express mail the cluch kit unto me. Before I go any further I must let you know that I have no money to pay for your services, on helping fix this 1986 Camaro that my father said I would never be-able to do, because I'm just a little girl. He thinks just because I'm a girl that I can't do what other boys can do.
If you can help me I really really thank you. But if you can't thank you any way for taken out the time to read my comments. I only have a few more days to get the car running. Somebody please help me. PLEAS.

I haven't split a Ford, but I've split a few others. Normally you block up one end, than use a hoist or cherry picker that can be moved with the rear or front unit, whichever you decide to make the moveable half. You'll have to move one half at least a foot or more to give you enough room to work on clutch... Realignment wasn't a real problem, you just push the two halves back together. It helps to have a couple of large kant-twist clamps or c-clamps to this operation. Alignment of clutch with pilot bearing, I turn up a concentric shaft on the lathe with one end the same size as pilot bearing, and the body of shaft same size as I.D. of spline..I hope I'm not ramblin' here. One other thing, make sure to replace pilot bearing or bushing since you have it apart. It's alot of work, just to do it again for a $7 item.... Dave

On a 6600 there should be 8 bolts that allow you to sep. engine from torque tube. Cut 2 wood blocks to keep engin half from pivoting and drive between front axle and casting. I usually put the back 1/2 on a jack stand and the front half on a floor jack and sep. the two. One of my friends goes just the opposite. He uses a truck to pull the back away. Clutch is pretty straight forward once you get inside. Like the other post said, replace pilot bearing. Check for oil on the back of the flywheel (rear main leak). Arround here a good rebuild on the clutch runs $275-$325 for clutch, p. plate, throwout bearing, an pilot bearing plus labor (I've been charging $125).
