Does oven cleaner work to remove paint in colder temps...i.e. just above freezing. Want to get started getting off the paint.

Oven cleaner doesn't spray very well when it's really cold. I suggest using paint stripper, although you will need a few coats.

I've been playing around with paint removal over the last couple of months up here in MN. Brake fluid works, although you need to let it soak for about a week; a wire wheel works best on surfaces you can get to; paint stripper works but it's not cheap. 000 steel wool and rubber gloves are essential when using chemical paint removers. Hope this helps.

I buy oven cleaner in gallon jugs, and just brush it on, and leave it over night. Next day, I put on another coat and let it stand an hour or so. Then I use my pressure washer on it and everything, paint, grease comes off to bare metal. It's truly wonderful stuff. I would think that you should protect the oven cleaner from freezing, but it should work okay in cold weather. Good luck. Regards..... .P

What is your source for oven cleaner in gallon quantities? What can I expect to pay? I have a restaurant supply nearby but don't remember seeing any oven cleaner in gallons. Slowpoke
