I recently purchases a TO-20 and is in very nice shape and runs really good. The tractor has been updated to 12 volt. While replacing a couple of the wires that looked frayed, I noticed that the alternator did not have any wires hooked up! The tractor must have been running off the battery power alone. Does anybody know where the wires from the alternator need to be hooked up to? The alternator looks to be like a normal car alternator with a red and black connector going into the round side of the alternator and there are two rear post that can be hooked to on the backside ofthe alternator. Any info would be soooo appreciated!

the big lug on the back goes to the battery. the two spade terminals on the side must be in line like this - - and not side by side l l. the two in line measn it has an internal voltage regulator. Most of the alternators used are delco off of late 1970's chevy type car/truck. I will send yo a diagram. one spade is always hot, the other is switched off and on with the key.
