i have recently been having a fuel problem with my tractor. i believe the problem les within the valve used to disconnect fuel from entering the injector pump(the kill switch). I had a mechanic look at the situation and through operating mechanical arm, the opening was reastablished and the tractor ran for 30 minutes and now no fuel is getting to the injector pump again. i want to avoid having the injector pump serviced for several hundred of dollars. please help

Check fuel flow at the injection pump from tank by taking the line loose and observing flow. If not enought flow you have a restriction between pump and tank. if you have good flow loosen the pressure line nuts to injector nozzles and crank over the engine to see if you are getting fuel flow with out airin the fuel. If you are getting air you need to bleed the air out of the system and try above again. If this does not get fuel to injector nozzles you have a pump problem. Sometimes this is a difficult task as it can get air locked in pump.

I talked to a diesel mechanic I know and he said that you might be sucking air somewhere between the fuel tank and the injector pump. Since the fuel line is not pressurized that is a possibility. Can you answer a question for me? How many turns do you get on your steering wheel going lock to lock? I have a 1965 Ford 3000 gas. Ihave just overhauled the steering column and i want to make sure I have the sector shafts installed properly before I try to reinstall it.
